Collection: Nitael
Nitael Bruno
Nitael is an autodidact artist, whose cultural heritage attaches a special significance to his inspiration.
He is a student of the old masters of impressionism, expressionism, cubism, and surrealism.
His journey took him from a culture of street art and graffiti to oil paints, canvas, and studio works.
Nitael engages through a variety of mediums, oil painting, pencil or pen drawings, collage, murals, engraved wood panels and sculptures.
His subjects are the human figure; architectural or natural landscapes; and abstract portraits. With his thick, dramatic knife work and brilliant colours, he usually layers vibrant paints creating a heavy, textured image, where you can find the bright colours and sharp divisive lines so characteristic of his style.
To paint, he uses a palette knife spatula, and a small selection of brushes.
Technical in his approach he searches incessantly as he explores his subconscious mind on the canvas.
Dwelling on the balance between chaos and order, past and present, darkness and light and the usual dichotomy of life.
Subtle and critical, frequently embedded with either subliminal, in your face or non-existing messages. It’s up to you to find them.
Modern concerns like environmental awareness and social interaction are always translated
during the creative process, and each piece has its unique way of connecting people’s thoughts and hearts.
